The library story began from one story ending. Since 1997, Covenant Classical Academy in Louisville, KY had gathered books and resources to teach students in learning about what is good, true, and beautiful in our world and the God who looked upon His creation and said, "It is good". The Little House Classical Library began to preserve the legacy of learning and the continued curiosity to get to know our Creator, His creation, and also ourselves through quality Literature and resources.
There is a book by Virginia Lee Burton called "The Little House". It tells the story of a house that had good beginnings in a countryside but was curious about the city. As time passes, the city encroaches her space and the joy of living leaves. The house is later moved back to the countryside by a descendant of the builder and returns to peaceful living. Our mission amidst an often chaotic, confusing culture for the next generation is to offer books, classes and events to regain the peaceful assurance that the good, the true, and the beautiful can still be found. The Little House Classical Library hopes to help students and families regain "the joy in living" on their learning journey.
Ms. Linda "the Librarian" helped build both church and school libraries in her past. She is now helping to build our little library one stamp at a time. Without her, we wouldn't have the Dewey decimal system in place or find the books needed very well.
Ms. Paige's love of stories began living near this mill pictured behind her. Remembering and reading about the past has always been a joy for her. She teaches KY History at the library and loves to make connections between our own lives and the people in both fiction and nonfiction stories. She likes to be thought of as a "Steward of the Stories" and the library that houses them.
